Find the Best Food and Drinks in the Davos-Klosters Mountain Region: A Guide to the Top Mountain Huts Across the Ski Resorts
Skiing and snowboarding are incredible for many reasons, one of the greatest pleasures is stopping along the slopes to enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, a bit of sunbathing and the breathtaking panoramas of the Swiss Alps.
This is especially true if you’re Italian, like me. For me, a huge part of the joy of a winter ski holiday comes from experiencing the best cuisine and drinks the resort has to offer. And that’s exactly why you can trust my recommendations.
In this guide, we’ll take you through the best mountain restaurants and après-ski bars you can find across the ski resorts of Davos-Klosters: Jakobhorn, Parsenn. For each ski area we will highlight the best Restaurants, Bars, Cafes, Mountain Huts and we’ll explainhow easy it is to reach them by ski or snowboard, describe the atmosphere and most importantly: tell you what the food and drinks are like.
Best Mountain Huts and Après-Ski in Jakobhorn Ski Area
Jakobshorn can be reached directly from Davos Platz and appeals to skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The highlights here are plenty: families and beginners will love the easy practice area at the base of the mountain, while advanced skiers can enjoy the wide variety of runs higher up. And for snowboarders, the Jatzpark snowpark is one of the best in the region.
When it comes to food and drinks, Jakobshorn offers a great variety of options to please everyone, from family-friendly restaurants (Fuxägufer) to traditional Swiss mountain huts (NaturFreundenHouse) But what truly makes Jakobshorn stand out is its après-ski scene: this is the most famous mountain in the Davos–Klosters area for those unforgettable afternoons and sunsets filled with music, drinks and dancing (Jatzhütte).
Jatzhutte - Top Apres ski
Vibes and Venue:
Perched high at 2,500 meters, Jatzhütte is where the party meets the panorama. This legendary mountain hut is famous for its DJ sessions, live music, and even an outdoor hot tub overlooking the mountains. During the day, it’s the perfect place for a quick lunch or a cold beer in the sun. However, this gem truly comes alive in the late afternoon when the vibe turns electric — by far the best après-ski scene in Davos.
Food:
Our recommendation here falls on anything from the grill and the huge outdoor Rösti station beside the restaurant. The menu is typically Swiss, and the burger is a solid option. However, we want to emphasize again that the real highlight of this place is the après-ski experience.
How to Get There:
With skis:
Jatzhütte is located just above the snowpark (Jatzpark) on Jakobshorn, near the top of the lifts. If you’re skiing or snowboarding, it’s super easy to reach via the main gondola or the Jatz Quattro chairlift.
Without skis:
If you’re not riding but simply want to come up and enjoy the sun and après-ski atmosphere, getting to Jatzhütte is a bit more complicated. You’ll need to take the main Jakobshorn gondola all the way to the top, and from there, walk roughly 800 meters along the side of the slope to reach the hut. It’s a bit of a trek but absolutely worth it once you arrive.
To make the most of your day on the slopes, we recommend reviewing our ski equipment checklist in advance, so you arrive fully prepared.
Fuxägufer - Swiss meets Thai
Vibes and Venue:
Mid-mountain, you’ll find Fuxägufer, a spot that combines a beautiful outdoor terrace with a classic Swiss mountain hut vibe inside. With its large sun terrace, panoramic views, and laid-back atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to relax between runs or recharge with a coffee in the sun. Compared to the buzzing après-ski up top, Fuxägufer is much calmer. Occasionally, there’s live music or a DJ set, which gives the place a bit more energy without losing its relaxed feel.
Food:
Here, classic Swiss cuisine meets Asian flavors, thanks to the Thai chef running the kitchen. You can enjoy an Alpen Macaroni or Raclette, or go for something a little different like a Pad Thai or Green Curry. It’s a fun and tasty mix that makes Fuxägufer stand out from the usual mountain fare.
How to Get There:
With skis:
Fuxägufer is super central in the Jakobshorn resort you can reach it from almost any lift. If you’re skiing down from the top, look for it on the left side of run 8, right by the Carjöler chairlift.
Without skis:
One of the best features of Fuxägufer is how easy it is to reach even if you’re not skiing. From Bolgen (Davos Platz), you can take the Carjöler chairlift straight up to the restaurant and back down again, perfect for non-skiers who still want to enjoy the mountain vibe.
Naturfreundenhouse - Tradition and Nature
Vibes and Venue:
This is a real gem! Hidden in the forest just off slope number 10, you’ll find a beautiful Swiss chalet called Naturfreundenhaus.
In our opinion, it’s the best restaurant on the mountain if you want to experience the real Switzerland. It’s quiet, cozy, and tucked away from the noise and rush of the main ski slopes. The venue is charmingly curated, the staff are extremely friendly, and the sun terrace is a dream. Here you’ll get to try Swiss dishes you wouldn’t expect to find anywhere else on Jakobshorn.
Food:
The menu is simple but exceptional, they serve local specialties that are hard to find anywhere else on the mountain. These dishes come straight from the Grisons (Graubünden) region’s cuisine. The Käsespätzli and homemade Capunsare absolute must-tries! To top it off, the desserts are homemade and beautifully delicate, the perfect sweet ending to a mountain meal.
How to Get There:
With skis:
If you’re skiing, start the valley run (slope number 10). About 50 meters after the beginning of the run, look to your left for a small sign and a narrow side road. Follow it for another 50 meters on your skis and you’ll arrive right at the restaurant.
Without skis:
Getting here without skis takes a bit more effort, but it’s well worth it. You can hike up through the forest from Davos, a beautiful walk of around two hours, which takes you directly to the restaurant. It’s the perfect winter adventure for non-skiers looking to enjoy some peace, nature, and great food.
Top Mountain Restaurants and Bars in Parsenn Ski Resort
Parsenn can be reached directly from Davos Dorf and is the largest ski area in the Davos-Klosters region. It connects Davos with Klosters and is well-known for its excellent snow conditions, wide open slopes, and some of the longest ski runs you’ll ever experience.
Parsenn also offers a great variety of mountain restaurants and bars. Here, you can enjoy some of the best food in Davos-Klosters while relaxing in the sun and taking in some of the most beautiful panoramic views in Switzerland.

Parsenn Hütte (Restaurant) – Finest Food on the Slopes of Davos-Klosters
Vibes & Venue:
Located right in the heart of Parsenn, this restaurant probably offers the best food you’ll find on the mountain. If you’re planning to stop for a proper meal and don’t mind resting your legs for a while, this is definitely the place. The venue is cozy and welcoming; although it doesn’t offer an outdoor terrace, the indoor seating is extremely comfortable. The staff are incredibly friendly and highly professional, many of them having worked together for years. Since the restaurant is relatively small, we highly recommend calling in advance to reserve a table, especially during high season.
Food & Drinks:
The menu is well thought out and offers a great variety of options. Both meat and fish dishes are excellent. Highlights include the tuna tataki steak, as well as traditional Swiss specialties such as capuns, rösti, and liver dishes.
How to Get There:
With Skis:
Getting to Parsenn Hütte is very easy, even for less experienced skiers. A wide blue slope (number 15) leads directly to the restaurant. If you are new to the Parsenn area and come up with the train from Davos Dorf, you will arrive at Weissfluhjoch. From there, take the blue slope called Totalp and follow it until you reach Parsenn Hütte.
If you enjoy off-piste and free ride checkout The Ultimate Guide to Freeride and Off-Piste Skiing in Davos-Klosters, This guide covers what makes Davos a freeride hotspot, where to go, when to come, and why having a local guide can turn a good day into a great one.
Without Skis:
If you’re not skiing, reaching Parsenn Hütte is a bit more complicated. From Davos Dorf, take the two funiculars up to Weissfluhjoch, then take the large gondola down to Parsenn Hütte. Altogether, the journey takes around one hour.
Mungga Hütta - Easy snacks and drinks in the sun
Vibes & Venue:
By far the most fun and chilled-out restaurant/bar to stop at for a bite or a drink in the sun. Mungga Hütte is located just across Blue Slope 15, opposite Parsenn Hütte. It’s a super cool little spot with a cozy indoor room, but the real highlight is theoutdoor bar, complete with tables and sun chairs. On a sunny day the atmosphere is incredible: great music, relaxed vibes, tasty food, and the perfect alpine setting. If you’re looking for a delicious quick snack or simply want to enjoy a beer in the sun, this is the place!
Food & Drinks:
The menu is small, but every item is truly delicious. Our personal favorites are the homemade hot dog (definitely not your average one!) and the roast beef sandwich, which is even better. Despite their simplicity, these dishes are amazing because they’re genuinely homemade. On the drinks side, you’ll find a selection of local beers and a great Aperol Spritz if you feel like treating yourself.
How to Get There:
With Skis:
Getting here is very easy. Simply head toward Parsenn Hütte, and on the opposite side of the slope, just before the Totalp chairlift, you’ll find Mungga Hütte.
Without Skis:
Follow the same route you would take to reach Parsenn Hütte. Once you get off the gondola, carefully cross Blue Slope 15 (watching out for oncoming skiers from above), and you’ll arrive at Mungga Hütte.
Alte Schwendi – Tradition on the Klosters Side
Vibes & Venue:
A charming and traditional Swiss chalet located on the slopes that descend from Parsenn into Klosters side. The wooden chalet features a super cozy indoor dining room as well as a beautiful sunny terrace outside, making it perfect in all weather conditions. In our opinion, the best time to visit is when the sun is shining on the terrace and you can sit, relax, and eat in just a t-shirt.
Food & Drinks:
Their traditional fondue and raclette are absolute highlights. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a delicious cheese raclette under the mountain sun. Another great option is their signature burger, which is incredibly tasty. The wine selection is excellent, and if you’ve decided your ski day is over, their gin and tonic is also highly recommended.
How to Get There
With Skis:
This hut is located along one of the most beautiful runs in the resort: a long red slope that offers plenty of turns, stunning views, and varied terrain (slope number 24). The only downside is that it’s not beginner-friendly, so less experienced skiers may find it challenging to get there.
Without Skis:
A really great feature for beginners or less confident skiers is that, if you call the restaurant, they can arrange to pick you up from the bottom of the Schifer gondola and take you directly to the chalet.
Conclusion
To wrap it all up, the Davos–Klosters mountain region offers far more than incredible skiing, it’s a true culinary adventure on snow. From high-energy après-ski spots to quiet, traditional huts hidden in the forest, there’s something to suit every mood and taste. Knowing where to stop makes all the difference in turning a good ski day into an unforgettable one.
